Happy New Year!

The new CBC website is up. We're hoping the new format will give us a lot of opportunity for expansion. Let me know if anything needs to be added, revised, deleted, cast into a pit of a million fires, or whatever.

The CBC offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, which means this week's newsletter will be arriving in your inbox tomorrow. If you want anything publicized, click on my profile and let me know!

Remember that Christmas Eve Services will be held at 4, 6, and 8 PM (in case you weren't there when Steve has us recite the times to him). See you there!

Middle School Broomball is on the 29th.

College Christmas Party

If you are in college or of college age, you are invited to the Christmas party in the CBC Cafe on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7 PM. Call Chris Turner for info.

By the way, the deadline for registration is January 11, 2009. You can pay when you register or when class begins. Check out the courses here.

Middle School Worship Band at the Door TONIGHT!

The middle school Worship band will be playing TONIGHT at The Door in Fort Worth from 7 to 7:30 PM. Cost is $10 and the evening middle school class will be there. Contact Charlie for a ride or if you would like to drive.

Special Christmas Worship Sunday, Dec. 21

Our new worship pastor will be here for a special event Christmas Worship event during the 5 o'clock service on Sunday, December 21. Bring the family, enjoy the music, and get a preview of what we can expect with our new worship pastor in the new year!

CBC Blood Drive

Remember to register online for the blood drive from 8 to 1, this Saturday, Dec. 13.

Family Fun Night, Wednesday, Dec 10

In lieu of Half Time, we'll be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with a Happy Birthday, Jesus party. This is for families with kids in 5th grade and younger. We'll have celebratory cupcakes, crafts, decorating of a Christmas tree, and more fun!

It's Wednesday night from 6:45 to 8.

New Series Starting Next Week

We'll start the Advent series on December 7. Pastor Steve will be teaching from Isaiah 9.

According to Wikipedia, Advent is the season of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. Advent starts the fourth Sunday before Christmas. Get out your advent calendars!
