Haiti Update from missionary LJ Scott

We are well. Wednesday, about noon, I sent Agape Flights an e-mail to let them know that there are an estimated 150,000 refugees flooding into Cayes. I explained that they need a lot of food, and requested rice, beans, cooking oil, etc. Thursday afternoon, two Agape planes arrived here in Cayes with 3700 pounds of relief food flown from the DR. This morning one of the planes returned with another 2500 pounds of food. That is 6200 pounds total. By tomorrow I expect all of that will have been distributed in various ways to those in need. We are figuring that out as we go.

What a great and fast response. I would not have believed it could have happened so quickly.

One of the pilots said to me this morning that everyone is flooding Port-au-Prince with food and supplies, but no one was helping the refugees in this area. He is correct.

All of you have helped in various ways. Maybe only in prayer -- but that is no small thing! Keep up the good work on behalf of the vast number of needy people here."
