CBC Families Update

The CBC Families has been really fun. Having only started in September, the group is still in its infancy, but already has 40 families in the group. These families are mostly from CBC, but we have families that are members of other churches that participate in CBC activities, such as bible study or MOPS.
Haiti Update
"It has been a long month! The days have run together and I was surprised yesterday to realize that it was the 11th, and that this day would mark a month after the devastation in Port-au-Prince.
"Food and relief supplies are still arriving here in Les Cayes to help the refugees that have fled in this direction from Port-au-Prince. I have no idea just how many relief supplies have been brought into Cayes from the U.S., the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. All of this air relief effort has had a cost, however. One helicopter crashed, one plane was lost in the Bahamas and the Agape Flights plane was severely damaged in Jacmel, Haiti. The crew from the two planes survived, but I understand that two people died when the helicopter crashed. It is hard to accept these losses.
"I have talked with a wide variety of pilots who flew planes from all over the U.S. and areas around Haiti. It is amazing to see that planes and pilots and cargo have been donated from all over the U.S. The pilots thanked us for our work here, but we all thanked them for their work bringing all these loads of food and medical supplies.
"Many of you have sent donations to Agape Flights to aid in their relief efforts, and many have sent special support through Agape for our ministry use here in Haiti. These personal amounts have been amazing to us. I do not recall asking for any additional support, but we are grateful for God's provision through you. We have bought a lot of food items to help those around us who have swollen households of refugees. Just the cost of gasoline to keep the van in constant movement is huge. It takes about $85 to $90 U.S. to fill the tank on the van.
"I am well. Missed a few meals, lifted a lot of stuff and sweated a lot. But that is not all bad. After all, people pay lots of money in the U.S. to exercise their muscles and lose a few pounds.
"Thank all of you for your prayer support and your financial help."

Missionaries at CBC
We had a great time visiting with the missionaries supported by CBC this Sunday. It was quite a treat to hear about their ministries and prayer requests.
